Every Friday, we serve 250 guests a sit down hot meal with second servings and meals to go if needed. Nearly 20,000 meals served each year...and growing! A hot nourishing meal can be provided for $ 3.10. Totally funded by individuals, foundations and local businesses.

Friday Soup Kitchen has existed for over forty years because we believe it's our responsibility to help our neighbors who just don't get enough to eat. So, every Friday, 52 weeks a year, a dedicated community of volunteers comes together to prepare and serve a hot, nutritious lunch to over 250 guests. One in six New York City residents – over 1.2 million people are "food insecure." Nearly One in Four children in New York City are food insecure. One in Ten New York City seniors are food insecure. As a direct result of major cuts in SNAP funding (food stamps), Friday Soup Kitchen has seen a nearly 18% increase in the number of guests each week who need our help.
